Boo Dale is a Croatian, Rijeka based DJ. He’s been a DJ from 2001. when he decided to introduce another creative tool to his Gibson SG guitar – Technics MK2 turntables! His music has always been a well selected mixture of various styles of electronic music starting from deep and minimal house across electro and tech-house to techno based grooves. This width in selecting genres made him the Croatian clubbers’ choice from the very start. The love is mutual!
BOO DALE started his musical journey back in 1994. when he and his friend and colleague FRYER formed a band that introduced a completely new style to Croatian rock scene by mixing hard guitar riffs and hip hop, way before that kind of approach became a hype worldwide.
The band was called Unlogic Skill, it had released two albums on Dancing Bear Records and then split up in 2001. Boo Dale continued his engagement in Croatian rock scene to this day being a member/guitar player of one of the most popular alternative rock bands in Croatia (LET 3). In 2001, two friends have again felt the need to experiment in music so they began their DJ career by playing something completely new and different at that time… Setting off into the unknown, they were the first to introduce a new fusion electronic genre to the Croatian club scene. By playing an interesting mixture of what is now known as electro, minimal and deep or new tekk-house, they made a first step by sharing that groove with their followers in the weekly event called Klackanje, which was soon followed by dozens of “Wir tanzen durch die ganze Nacht!” parties that soon became “the hype” guarantying the ultimate club experiences. Instantly marked as the most innovative upcoming DJs always transmitting on clubber’s frequency, Fryer and Boo Dale soon became a part of the respectable Frequency Crew, based in Zagreb’s club Tockica, right after becoming some of the most booked DJs in Croatia.
They spent a whole season as residents in the Fun Academy club in Rijeka and the Boogaloo club in Zagreb. Years that followed have brought bookings by all the relevant clubs (K4, Lazareti, Fort Bourgignon, Temple, Opium, Crossroad, Stereo Dvorana, Tesla) and festivals (MTV Beach Central Europe Slovakia, Exit Fest Serbia, Rabac Summer Festival Croatia, Hartera Festival Croatia) in wider region. They have made a substantial contribution to the growth of Hartera Festival – an annual two-days event now becoming one of the biggest festivals in Croatia. Boo Dale is also a booker, promoter and a selector of the whole electronic music part of the Festival.
F & B established themselves further as co-founders of the Body Jack project thus playing a significant part in the formation of the digital label Body Jack Schallplatten. Boo Dale is also the author and main editor of the weekly electronic music radio show called Body Jack FM.
In the next few years F&B have gone their separate ways remaining good friends and mutual supporters. Boo Dale’s musical choices became a well selected mixture of various styles of electronic music starting from deep and minimal house across electro and tech-house to techno based grooves and musical expressions. This width in selecting genres and the true love for the clubbing made him the Croatian clubbers’ choice
